ABOUT 2 WAY TENANCY
About 2 Way Tenancy Solutions
2 Way Tenancy Solutions CIC is a local social enterprise that has been working with tenants referred from social and private landlords in Gateshead, Newcastle, South Tyneside and Sunderland, for the past three years.
Our track record has been very successful, we have a 98% success rate of avoiding eviction (only 1 tenant was evicted following our intervention) with Gateshead Housing Company in 2017.
We are here to support tenants and their landlords to reduce rent arrears, avoid evictions and prevent homelessness. We provide a range of solutions including face to face tenant interventions, training, support and help with the transition of Universal Credit.
We are committed to improving the lives of tenants by providing a solutions-focused service which is dependent on the tenants need.
As an organisation committed to helping both landlords and tenants, we appreciate that all social and private landlords have limited budgets but believe we can provide a range of benefits that will make commercial sense.

I am the Managing Director and have been in this role for 7 years. My background is Housing both supported and general needs. Working and studying about housing, helped me understand that Housing is not about bricks and mortars, but much more than that.
2 Way Tenancy Solutions CIC was born out of the understanding that the Welfare reforms of 2013, were going to have a huge impact on a lot of people. Having worked in supported housing over the years, I understood that with the introduction of Universal Credit, there was a need to raise awareness of the importance of financial capability skills. More so, for those with complex needs and are at risk of falling through the cracks of the system. Our vision is to see lasting change in those that we work with.
At 2 Way Tenancy Solutions we deliver a unique service that meets everyone’s needs and remove the barriers to engagement. We thrive to make the service accessible to everyone – believe with the right support everyone can achieve their ambitions.

I am the Operations Manager and have been in the role for 4 years. I previously worked as a Case Worker for the Ministry of Justice. I would like to take this opportunity to share my reflections and tell you why I am proud to work for 2 Way Tenancy Solutions CIC.
Firstly and foremost it is the quality of people who work in our organisation. Wherever I go and whoever I speak to, leaves me with a buzz about the level of commitment to the work we do and to the people we work with.
Finally, the fact that as an organisation we are becoming more resilient. We do what we say, we deliver against our business plan commitments, this doesn’t happen by chance and it isn’t easy. This is made possible because we all pull together to help support and encourage each other.
We are all proud of different things and in different ways, it will be great to hear from you about what you think about the way our staff come across to you.

Outcome 4: Provide preventative measures to new tenants by offering training to help them understand the benefits system, manage their home budget and manage rent payments
Outcome 5: Engaging hard to engage tenants who are at risk of falling through the cracks of the system. These vulnerable groups include care leavers, ex-service personnel and those with mental health, drug and/or alcohol issues.
