Online Youth Mental Health First Aid
(6th and 8th June 2022)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. You’ll learn to recognize warning signs of mental ill health, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe. Learning takes place through four live training sessions, with self-learning activities in between.

This two day course trains you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider, giving you:

  • An in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and factors that affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues 

  • Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening 

  • Knowledge to help a young person recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through self-help sites, their place of learning, the NHS, or a mix – engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate

  • Ability to support a young person with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive

  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing

Date - 6th and 8th June 2022

Youth MHFA First Aider Two Day Course - Face to Face 
(14th and 21st June 2022)

Adult Mental Health Aware Half Day Classroom
(28th June 2022)

Introductory session at a greatly reduced cost to give you and your organisation a greater understanding of managing mental health issues in the workplace. An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining well-being. Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue. Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.


Takeaways from the event - Everyone who completes the course gets the following:

  • Certificate of attendance stating you are Mental Health Aware.

  • A manual for future reference.

  • A manual directed specifically towards line managers.

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

Adult MHFA Refresher Classroom
(19th July 2022)

If you are a Mental Health First Aider or MHFA Champion you have skills for life that support you and the people around you. 

We believe that mental health should be treated equally to physical health – and just like physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid training should be kept up to date. 

The four hour MHFA Refresher course will empower you to: 

  • Keep your awareness of mental health supports current

  • Update your knowledge of mental health and what influences it 

  • Practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

Please note that the MHFA Refresher is only for people who have completed an Adult Mental Health First AiderMHFA Champion, or Armed Forces Mental Health First Aider course.
